No holds barred advice from me. When I’m trading, I’m cold and not kind. 
You will only be zero capital if you risk it all. Remember that. You will never lose your entire money if you do proper risk management.
Risk 3-4%? Huh? Paano ako yayaman niyan?
May nabalitaan na ba kayong mutual fund or hedge fund na nasusunugan ng portfolio araw-araw? Sa Twitter/X, marami nasusunugan na accounts. Retail trading accounts are burnt every single day. As they say, there is a sucker born every single minute.
“Yabang mo naman.” That’s the point. Markets don’t care. You enter trading, one of the most stressful and ruthless jobs in the world – and you expect markets to be kind? Markets don’t even know our names!
Matagal talaga igrow ang portfolio kung 3-4% lang iririsk mo. Pero matagal din masusunog ‘yan. In fact, hindi ka masusunugan dyan.
Paano ko napalaki portfolios ko? Aba eh momentum trader ako PSE days, andaming IPOs na lumilipad, nagtrade ako cryptos nung $800 pa lang bitcoin at maayos gamit ko ng leverage sa forex. Matagal. I’ve been trading for more than 15 years. College pa lang nagtetrade nako, sumasali sa virtual trading competitions.
“Bomba” mentality susunog talaga sa portfolio kasi all-in. Pwedeng dumoble o triple portfolio mo sa isang trade. Pwede ring zero sa isang trade.
Kaya nga hindi ko alam if mabait akong mentor dahil straightforward ako at hindi ko binebaby mga estudyante sa Satori. I lay down facts. Wala namang pagmumura o pamamahiya. But when I state facts, it’s for everyone’s knowledge. Professionally done and spoken.
Savings at emergency fund – huwag ipangtetrade. You are trading “scared” money. Buffer mo ‘yan. Emergency para lang kapag may hospital or unexpected events. When you trade “scared” money, apektado mental state because you always think YOU HAVE TO PROFIT all the time.
Trading is a business of MINIMIZING LOSSES and MAXIMIZING PROFITS. Kailangan matalo sa trading. Pero kailangan mo rin manalo at dapat mas malaki sa talo mo.
Pang-wedding, pang-kotse, pang-travel – Bakit mo itataya sa trading? Gastusin mo na sa mga purposes na ‘yan. May RETURN ON EXPERIENCE ka pa. Kesa walang ROI kapag natalo.
Be sufficiently capitalized. Mentality $100 magiging $1M. Oo nagawa ko Php50K to Php10M pero lahat ba makakagawa nun? The trading conditions that time suit my niche and style. Hindi ko araw-araw magagawa ‘yan.
Funds are even happy to earn 20% PER ANNUM. Pero ang mentality ngayon dapat per day, per trade, per month. Dyan ka madadale sa consistency. You’d realise it’s possible, but not always likely.
Kapag nasusundan ka na ng consecutive losses, the proper approach in trading firms and this is what we do is to STOP TRADING. You pause, take vacation leaves, free your mind from charts.
Come back stronger!
Huwag bira nang bira. Tigil din muna. Pwede naman bumalik anytime.
Trading drought happens and it’s more common than you think. You gotta plan it well.
And finally, kapag sinisisi na whales, news at volatility, you know there is something missing – FUNDAMENTALS.
Hindi talaga enough technicals though kailangan ‘yan for proper entries and exits.
There are big players of course. There are economic news to learn, yes. Markets are volatile, true.
That’s why trading is a FINANCE world. Marami talaga variables sa trading. Kapag sinisisi na sila sa losses, may mali na sa system. Ibig sabihin hindi sila part ng system mo to think these things will ALWAYS be part of the equation.
Matututunan? Of course. All senior traders are once newbies.
