Here are my realizations why privacy matters to me:

1) Kapag yumayaman ka na, the more private you become for your safety and sanity.

Sa totoo lang, kung yumayaman ka na, you wouldn’t want to flaunt what you have in socmed and be a target of bad people who can do bad things not just to you but to your family.

Para sa’kin, walang point na kitang-kita faces, location, millions you have in social media.

Celebrities and high profile personalities INVEST in security. That’s why they pay for bodyguards, bullet-proof inner clothing and vehicles, at sandamakmak na security sa pamamahay nila.

That’s the reason why any reader wouldn’t see any selfies or family pictures on this public Facebook page. There’s no point especially since I’m a trader and also a savvy investor.

2. Being private helps me stay grounded.

I keep growing OFFLINE and that’s all that matters. I study certifications related to trading. I’m keeping up with my fitness goals. I’m keeping up with nurturing my relationship with my immediate family.

Being private helps me stay neutral, progressive and truly happy.

3. Privacy means being smart.

That I can walk in streets of Manila without being mobbed by followers who would ask for selfies or autographs.

That I can negotiate terms and deals because ‘being rich’ does not necessarily make you eligible to good discounts or prices. Sometimes, it’s the other way around because people and business ‘expect’ that you can pay more.

That I can stay low-key pero maraming pera, maraming investments sa panahon ng emergency.

4. Being private makes me appreciate the real, raw happy life. Without pretensions. Without being fake. Without being scripted.

When the couple behind The Blackman Family separated, I was one of those sad and wondering: Does fame really have to pay a huge price?

Having a lot of money makes your mind stable to stresses the lack of it can cause. True.

But when is too much, too much? When does money “hurt” you? When does money make you bad?

You know you’ve reached a certain happiness that (so much) money cannot buy.

Sa dami ng bashing sa mundo ng trading, I’m happy I can stand my ground: Masaya ako offline. Kahit one day wala ng Facebook or one day wala na makakilala sakin as MK, masaya pa rin akong tao.

Hahaha
