I hope people actually read the article because the Kristoffer did mention about traditional products that give you decent returns.
Let’s break down why having this mindset is deadly especially to Gen Z generation:
Cryptocurrency is a land of speculation. Think of “basura” stocks in PSE, IPOs in any equities market. Sky’s the limit in speculative moves.
If you always think about “paldo mentality” meaning 100x, 200x, 300x in every trade, you are aiming for ultra valuations that are beyond imagination. You are basically aiming for the skies all the time.
You’d hear more often of a crypto trader na nasunog. More than you hear JP Morgan, BlackRock losing entire capital.
“Paldo mentality” promotes unnecessary “speed” – Kailangan 100x trade ko. Kailangan ‘yung $50 bet ko maging $10,000. This is the kind of gambling or betting mentality that gets engrained to minds of people and they think they are trading. No, you are NOT a trader. Far from being PROFESSIONAL. You are a GAMBLER and this mindset is HARD to fix.
Why? Kasi ganun lagi, kapag nasunog $50 ang mentality atleast $50 lang. Talpak ulit ng $50. Bet ulit ng $50. Until tsumamba. Isn’t it trading?
Tanungin mo ng risk management. 1:2000 nga tinuturo mentor pa. Capital $1000 or $2000. Average loss mas malaki pa sa Average win. Sugal talaga.
Mangyayari dyan deposit nang deposit.
Hanggang tsumamba.
High risk trader = High returns. Pero palpak sa risk management ‘yan. Fluctuating malala capital. Maliit man or malaki capital. $50M capital. Today $55M. Bukas $45M. Next day $40M. Bumalik sa $45M. Bumaba ng $35M. Fluctuations are too wild and big. Hindi na nagcucut ‘yan. Investing na ‘yan NOT trading. Professional firms will not allow too huge fluctuations.
Professional firms will not allow a trade to hurt their capital so big they can no longer trade.
That’s why it is important to know WHO YOU FOLLOW IN SOCIAL MEDIA. Baka magaling lang magsalita. Baka magaling lang sa profit screenshots pero poor ang mindset sa risk management. Baka hindi pa papasa as professional trader.
You’d be surprised to know that professional trading is having a RISK FIRST MINDSET. Secondary lang ang profits. If you manage risks well, your capital will not die, your profits will come eventually.
Hindi pang show-off ang tunay na professional trading. It’s about killing every trade under a risk-controlled environment. Hindi paldo all the time. Big firms are HAPPY with 20% per annum return over-all. Bayad at mayaman ang traders. Bayad ang operations ng firm.
Wala naman copytrading si BlackRock. Bakit prinopromote ang copytrading sa retail? Ahhh, commissions kada trade! Isn’t it?
Malayung-malayo ang totoong trading sa retail trading. Pataasan ng ihi at payabangan ng screenshots sa retail public to grow communities. Pero palpak talaga sa risk management. Kapag talo asa na lang kay God pero ang totoo wala talaga disiplina o tamang trading psychology around discipline.
Choose the right foundation in trading dahil dyan nakasalalay longevity mo as a trader.
